Ansley Mayson

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Associate Professional Counselor

Life holds both joy and hardship. Some experiences remind us of our worth and bring a deep sense of safety, while others leave us trapped in patterns that feel heavy or limiting. I work with clients to hold both realities with honesty and compassion, gently addressing the places where you feel stuck and creating new practices that bring freedom and connection.

MY APPROACH:

I take a collaborative approach, honoring your strengths and guiding our work around the goals that matter most to you. Drawing from my training in Restoration Therapy (RT), I’ll offer support in guiding you toward new ways of thinking, relating, and responding. I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens, incorporating mindfulness practices to care for both mind and body. I also use research-backed strategies from Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems Theory to help deepen understanding and foster lasting change.

WHO I WORK WITH:

I work with adults and adolescents (13+) navigating a wide range of concerns. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking support around relationships with themselves, partners, or family of origin. I also have experience walking alongside those facing body image concerns, eating disorders, or complicated relationships with food. Another area of my work is supporting people through complex grief and loss, including the kinds of experiences that can feel overwhelming, disorienting, or difficult to put into words. While these are common themes in my practice, I welcome clients with a variety of stories and challenges, and I tailor our work to the unique needs and goals you bring.

MY BACKGROUND:

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. During my studies, I completed my clinical internship at an eating disorder treatment center, working with clients in residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care. Before graduate school, I spent several years in advertising as an account manager. These experiences have fostered my curiosity and creativity in understanding and supporting others, blending clinical expertise with a relational, client-centered perspective.
